Young Adults

Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The young adult group of Restoration Church provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people.

Poem by Mary O.
God, I thank you  for my trial
I would never want it upon me again
Nor do I wish it upon my enemies
     But again I thank you

You heard my wails of lossless grief
You saw my tears of sorrow
     I begged for your comfort
     But in my form

I couldn’t feel you hold me
Because it wasn’t the form I thought I wanted
I did not hear your words of comfort
Because it was not your voice I wanted

My season has shown me much
     My faith depends on me
     You are all I require
You are the only way in which  I receive joy

Thank you
for showing me those whom are my brothers, sisters, and friends
for showing me my actions and my emotions affect not me alone
for showing me the blessings I can find in trying times

Without tribulations
I would surely not be grateful for what you have done for me
I write these words in hope that others will read them
I say these words in hope that others will listen

God, my Father, Jesus, my Savior
In you, and you alone can I put my trust
Only you know what is good for me
What is best for me

You are my comfort
You are my shield
You are my rock

Thank you for loving me enough to teach me the hard way
